The game

One summer. One handcart. One big race.

School is out in Hope Bay. Arlinton has a wooden handcart, a grandmother to help and a race to win. He has one summer to hustle around a seaside town, build a motorised cart and win the big race, without ever snitching on the gangster hiding next door.

Hustle. Build. Race. Grow.

  • Hustle: Deliveries, food stalls, scrap runs and errands. Cargo has real weight and slides if you corner too hard.
  • Build: Spend your earnings on parts and blueprints. Upgrade frames, wheels, brakes and racks, then fit a motor.
  • Race: Practice against rival kids, then run the summer race on the final day.
  • Grow: Respect, choices and the story change how the town treats you. Care for Hope Bay and it looks better.

Meet Hope Bay

  • Arlinton: A Hope Bay teen with a wooden handcart, a big plan and a rule: never snitch.
  • Grandma Cherry: She has raised Arlinton since his parents died. She is the heart of the yard.
  • Delroy: Runs the junkyard and the driving school.
  • Clifford: A smart Jamaican stray who never leaves Arlinton’s side.
  • The Crew: Tia, Sanka, Bembe, Javel and Tony. Friends, and rivals on race day.
